My love of creating stories began in early childhood. Now, as an established author of novels and novellas, I enjoy sharing what I have learnt through years of experience with my readers and students.
“Heathcliff meets Poldark.”
North Yorkshire, England, is the setting for the majority of my books with its majestic moors, rugged coastline, and ancient market towns and ports. It is my birthplace where I grew up and explored.
The early nineteenth century (Regency) was a period of huge social inequality and change. Smuggling, espionage, and industrial innovations all inspired many of my romantic adventures. I enjoy writing romance with an added darker touch of mystery.
It is all very clear and professional. Well done
Thank you for visiting my blog. It is new and I hope to combine my love of photography with clear concise articles to compliment my love of travel. Stop by occasionally for more.
Mine is also. I’m an author who loves writing adventures, interviewing authors, travelling and meeting people. Good luck with the blog and the great photos.
Love your blog! I am really looking forward to reading more! Ah, look at the little turtles! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Cher xo
Thanks so much. I’m fairly new to blogging but love writing and am fascinated by how other authors work. I couldn’t resist the fishy theme. Fits in with my stories set by the coast 🙂
I’ve had my blog less than 3 weeks so I’m a real newbie! I am too; it’s been fascinating thus far and I can’t wait to keep exploring! Keep up the great work and please do stop by The Chicago Files anytime! Cher xo
Thanks – I will 🙂
And I’ll be back to yours! 🙂
Your theme is so perfect. Love your site. Mine is only a week old, so is a learning curve. Have visited England twice and will definitely check out your work. Sounds like fun reading.
Thanks, Marci
I love the playful nature of the fishes and turtles. Thanks for your lovely comments. Hope you enjoy reading my stories. I’m still learning about blogging and social networking in general. 🙂 Where did you visit in England?
thanks so much for liking my post on my dad in the Army! I’ve only been blogging since the first of the year and just love “meeting” folks from all over the world. I look forward to reading more of your blog – and maybe your books! 🙂 Blessings to you!
Hi
I’m really only just getting into the idea of blogging regularly – I love interviewing authors but decided recently to start sharing the places and period I write about. Hope you enjoy looking through them. Keep going with the writing!
Romance stories, hey. Nothing wrong with some romance in your life, loved it’s! 🙂
Romance, mystery and adventure – a great combination 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Valerie, thanks for dropping by and liking my post. I’m wondering which ‘coastal town’ on the edge of North Yorkshire ir could be that you’re from? Used to live in Whitby myself, and so have a fascination for this part of the world. Hope to see you again some time, and great to see so many creative people here on the coast.
Hi
Great to meet you. I grew up in Redcar and love the area and its past – although I have created my own towns for my fiction. I love going to Whitby and York though.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Valerie,
Thank you so much for the like of “Mom’s Recipe Box: A Very Special Birthday Cake! Series Conclusion.” This series has meant a great to me in that it was in memory of my mother, and I have so appreciated those who shared in the joy of it.

It was only when I began writing my adventures that I realised how the ‘cook’ often plays a supporting part and that is a direct link to fond memories of my time shared with my mum and aunty. Have a lovely weekend. 🙂
Thanks for the ‘like’ on my Easy Hamburger Bun recipe. Your hometown area looks to be a lovely place – as it seems most of the UK is! We’ve spent some time in London and the Cotswolds on holiday (and yes, made the trip to Stonehenge) and all is just stunning. Admittedly, however, I’m partial to Scotland, land of my ancient heritage. Cheers!
Scotland is beautiful Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Hi Valerie,
I am pleased you enjoyed my blog on Haddon Hall. By the way, that is a great picture of Whitby Harbour. We have visited two or three times now and love the feel of the town and its surroundings like the North Yorkshire Moors and Robin Hood’s Bay. I have hopes that I will find my inner author one day.
I love the area. It is steeped in history and has fantastic scenery. Why not let your inner author out?
Just to say that I’m glad to have found your blog. It’s full of fantastic content and I’m in awe of your presentation. My blog is very new so it’s quite basic at the moment but I’m having so much fun writing again and connecting with other people.
Thank you so much for stopping by and being so positive about my blog. I am having a lot of fun with it and sharing my love of writing with others. Have a lovely weekend 🙂

Thank for liking the Truffle recipe on off The Cuff. Historical fiction is a genre that I’m interested in and I am currently doing a plot synopsis for a potential manuscript. Continued success Valerie.

Thanks for visiting and liking MyLittleFarminTown! Take care, Begonia
It thought I would stop by and see what your side of the blogiverse looked like. I enjoyed reading your latest interview, though that worm on the hook in the fringes of my peripheral vision quite freaked me out.
Glad to have discovered you here. I’ll be making more visits. Regards from Thom at the immortal jukebox (plugged in now!).

I love your site, especially the fishing line, so cute.
How lucky you are to live in North Yorkshire! I’ve always wanted to go there ever since loving reading ‘ The Secret Garden “when I was young.

Hi Valerie, thanks so much for visiting my blog and liking my review on BBC2’s Banished. 🙂 My blog is in its infancy so the support means a lot. xx
You are welcome. I just caught the first episode of Banished yesterday. I have yet to catch up with Poldark as I have just returned from the Far East. Happy blogging 🙂
Thank you for checking out my blog!:) I was reading your bio and it’s so inspirational that you have over 30 published works! A massive goal for me in the future:) (Lovely theme by the way!)
That is lovely of you to say so. I will have to update it as the printed titles total has just reached 35. The eBook versions are lagging behind 🙂 I have just attended a writer’s workshop as writing is a continuous learning curve. Just enjoy it!
Thank you for stopping by Storyteller. — Ray
